Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful mastery of theoretical and practical skills regarding the application and interpretation of Ukrainian labor law (and specific sections thereof), namely: the ability to apply labor law provisions to identify the fundamental rights and obligations of parties to labor law; understanding the significance of labor law for the organization of the labor process and entrepreneurial activity; using labor law provisions to realize the right to work (creative work), for career growth, and to enhance professionalism and qualifications; applying the main mechanisms and possible methods of protecting labor rights through substantive and procedural law; examine the main provisions of legislation on occupational safety, occupational health, and industrial hygiene; study the main social labor rights and guarantees, etc.
Course content
The aim of the course is to help students develop, through the study of the fundamental institutions of Ukrainian labor law, a comprehensive understanding of labor legal relationships, their legal regulation, the rights and obligations of parties to labor law, and the safeguards for their enforcement; to master the basic mechanisms and grounds for holding parties legally liable for non-compliance with or improper observance of labor law provisions; to acquire the necessary competencies and initial practical skills in interpreting and applying Ukrainian labor legislation in order to gain legal knowledge that enables the protection of labor rights, the full realization of the right to productive work, and the maintenance and development of the professional abilities of every employee. The course combines legal knowledge of labor law necessary for developing general competencies in specialists of any field and area of professional activity.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture, seminar, independent study. Teaching methods: explanation of new material, independent study of academic literature, interaction with the instructor and classmates. Illustrative methods.
Assessment methods and criteria
Surveys, quizzes, problem-solving exercises, and modular tests. Specific grading criteria are outlined in the course syllabus.
