Programme learning outcomes
PR 01. To apply obtained theoretical knowledge and practical skills for researching territorial-political systems at various levels of spatial organization. PR 02. To assess own work results; to demonstrate ability for teamwork. PR 03. To fluently communicate in foreign language on professional and scientific issues. PR 04. To perform research and/or innovative activities with the purpose of obtaining new knowledge, designing new methods and research procedures in geography as well as in interdisciplinary contexts. PR 05. To be able to identify, pose and solve scientific and applied problems, critically assess decisions. PR 06. To apply contemporary models and information technologies for research and development in the field of political geography and geopolitics, geospatial management of territorial-political systems and regional development. PR 07. To participate in preparing territory (states and regions) development programs and strategies; in geospatial management of territorial-political systems of various hierarchy levels. PR 8. To perform research of human-(politico)-geographic manifestations of geosystem development in complex and unpredictable conditions; to predict their development, analyze alternatives, assess risks and possible outcomes. PR 9.To perform professional assessment of territorial-political system development plans, programs and strategies; to perform their politico-geographical expert assessment and monitoring. PR 10. To apply GIS technologies, create and research models of politico-geographical manifestations of geosystem development; to frame the scope of their application. PR 11. To assess possible risks, social and economic, geo-environmental, political and geopolitical outcomes of management decisions in the field of geospatial management of territorial-political systems and regional development. PR 12. To plan and perform theoretical and applied research, make grounded conclusions, analyze and present research results. PR13. To perform research and teaching activities at higher education institutions, prepare necessary teaching and informational materials. PR 14. To formulate scientific hypotheses, spot pressing aspects in fundamental and applied directions of research, develop and manage projects in the field of political geography and geopolitics, geospatial management of territorial-political systems and regional development. PR 15.To independently evaluate key trends in natural and human-geographic processes for initiating new directions of scientific research

A number of professionally oriented classes may be taught in collaboration with organizations and institutions dealing with the problems of: - interaction of social environment components influenced by the place-specific features; - assessment of possible risks; -assessment of socio-economic and political consequences of management decisions (taking into account the principles of sustainable development). Students have an opportunity to participate in national and international congresses, conferences, symposia and other forms of interaction and presentation of the results of own research.
