Learning outcomes
To apply acquired theoretical knowledge and practical skills for the study of territorial and political systems at different levels of spatial organization (LO01); To be able to identify, pose and solve scientific and applied problems, carry out a critical assessment of the decisions made (LO05); To conduct research on natural and social (political)-geographic manifestations of the development of geosystems in complex and unpredictable conditions, forecast their development, analyze alternatives, assess risks and probable consequences (LO08); To assess possible risks, socio-economic, geoecological, political and geopolitical consequences of the implementation of management decisions in the field of geospatial management of territorial and political systems and regional development (LO11); To independently assess the key trends in the development of natural and socio-geographical processes for the formation of new areas of scientific research (LO15)

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful assimilation of the disciplines "Geoglobalistics" and "Theory of geographical position". Be able to evaluate and analyze the causes, course and consequences of socio-geographical processes. Possess the skills of analysis, synthesis, situation modeling, forecasting, comparison.
Course content
The essence of the conflictological and functionalist paradigms, concepts, factors and ways of resolving various types of conflicts are revealed. The general geography of conflicts in the modern world is considered: internal political, ethno-religious conflicts, territorial claims, struggle for resources, terrorism, wars and foreign policy confrontation. The prerequisites, participants, course, consequences and ways of settling modern conflicts in Ukraine, Europe, Asia, Africa, America, Oceania are detailed. The problems of global security, the search for ways of peaceful settlement of conflicts, including in and around Ukraine.

Assessment methods and criteria
The level of achievement of all planned learning outcomes is determined by the results of work at seminars, writing 2 final control papers, quizzes, analytical notes and presentation preparation: - work at seminars - 15 points / 10 points; - final test papers - 20 points / 12 points; - presentation – 10 points / 6 points; - analytical note – 10 points / 5 points; - quick quiz - 5 points / 3 points. Final assessment in the form of an exam. The exam is conducted in written form in the form of detailed and test tasks. The maximum number of points on the exam is 40 points, the minimum number of points that are added to the semester ones is 24 points. The final number of points for the discipline (maximum 100 points) is defined as the sum of points for systematic work during the semester, taking into account credit work. The credit is given based on the results of the student's work throughout the entire semester and does not include additional assessment measures.
