Final certification is public and includes: 1) Integrated Final Examination in Translation and English, 2) defense of Bachelor's qualification work.

PLO 1. Communicate freely on professional issues with experts and non- experts in Ukrainian and foreign languages (English and German / French / Spanish / Italian / Portuguese), in oral and in written form, use these languages to organize effective cross-cultural communication. PLO 2. Process information effectively: collect relevant information from a variety of sources, including professional literature and electronic databases, critically analyze and interpret it, organize, classify and systematize it. PLO 3. Organize own learning and self-education process. PLO 4. Understand the fundamental principles of human, nature and society genesis. PLO 5. Collaborate with colleagues, representatives of other cultures and religions, supporters of different political views, etc. PLO 6. Use information and communication technologies to solve complex specialized tasks and issues of professional activity. PLO 7. Understand the major issues of philology and approaches to solving those using relevant methods and innovative approaches. PLO 8. Know and understand the system of language, the general properties of literature as the art of word, the history of English and German / French / Spanish / Italian / Portuguese, and literature, be able to apply this knowledge in professional activities. PLO 9. Characterize dialect and social varieties of English and German / French / Spanish / Italian / Portuguese, describe the sociolinguistic situation. PLO 10. Know the rules of standard language and be able to apply them in practice. PLO 11. Know the principles, technologies and techniques of oral and written texts of different genres and styles creation in Ukrainian, English and German / French / Spanish / Italian / Portuguese. Full-time form

Exams (written, oral, mixed form), credit tests, differentiated credit tests, mid-course control, current control (presentations, reports/abstracts), defence of course projects/ course work, final (certification) exams, defence of bachelor's qualification paper. Assessment of learning outcomes is carried out on a 100-point scale and a national scale. The minimum positive level of assessment is 60 points. According to the exam results, the student is graded on a 4-point scale: “Excellent” (90-100 points), “Good” (75-89 points), “Satisfactory” (60-74 points), “Unsatisfactory” (35-59 points). If the exam is not conducted, the results are evaluated on a 2-point scale: “Passed” (60-100 points) or “Fail” (0-59 points). Specific assessment procedures are explained in the programs of the disciplines. The basic principles of assessment are explained in the "Regulations on the organization of the educational process in Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv".

A compulsory component of the educational program is a translation internship (English), which takes place outside the Institute of Philology. During the internship, students have the opportunity to practise various translation activities, learn to apply in practice their knowledge about the genre and stylistic features of texts, translation difficulties and ways to tackle them. During the internship, students learn to complete the tasks assigned by their accepting institutions following the requirements within the given time. Terms of completion and types of activities are determined by the curriculum. Peculiarities of conducting and assessing each type of practice are explained in program.

Graduates can work in various sectors of the economy which require services of translation, creation, analysis, evaluation of texts; in educational, scientific, literary and publishing fields; in the media; in PR-agencies; in various foundations, unions, humanitarian organisations, museums, art and cultural centres, etc.

Graduates have the right to continue their studies at the second level of higher education.
