Specific admission requirements
Presence of the first level of higher education and bachelor's degree. Categories of persons subject to special conditions of participation in the competitive selection for higher education on the basis of complete general secondary education in accordance with the Rules of Admission to the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv in 2022.
Specific arrangements for recognition of prior learning
Persons with bachelor's, master's or specialist's degree are admitted to study for master's degree.
A person may enter the University to obtain master's degree on the basis of bachelor's, master's or specialist’s degree obtained in another specialty, provided that entrance examinations are completed successfully.
Qualification requirements and regulations, including graduation requirements
Academic qualification is awarded on condition of successful mastery of the educational components of the program, successful completion of a comprehensive examination and public defense of the final qualification thesis.
Programme learning outcomes
LO01. To know and understand fundamental and applied aspects of environmental sciences. LO02. To be able to use conceptual environmental patterns in professional activities. LO03. To know at the level of the latest achievements the basic concepts of natural science, sustainable development and the methodology of scientific knowledge. LO04. Know the legal and moral standards for the assessment professional activities, development and implementation of socially significant environmental projects in the face of conflicting requirements. LO05. To demonstrate the ability to organize collective activities, and implement complex environmental projects, taking into account available resources and constraints. LO06. To know the latest methods and tools for environmental research, including methods and tools for mathematical and geoinformation modeling. LO07. To be able to communicate in a foreign language in the scientific, industrial and social fields of activity. LO08. To be able to convey professional knowledge, own justifications and conclusions to specialists and the general public, clearly and unambiguously. LO09. To know the principles of personnel and resource management, the main approaches to decision-making in the face of incomplete/insufficient information and controversial requirements. LO10. Examination regulations and grading scale
Current (testing, evaluation of a presentation/report, calculation tasks, laboratory reports, etc.) and final control in the form of credits/differentiated credits, written, oral or combined examinations on educational components (including defense of a report on the vocational, and vocational pre-diploma practice, course paper), public defense of a qualifying master's thesis, a comprehensive exam in the training program. The final assessment of learning outcomes is carried out according to the common 100-marks scale. The minimum threshold level of assessment for an educational component is 60% of the maximum possible number of marks. The scale of marks correspondence: Excellent 90-100 Good 75-89 Satisfactory 60-74 Unsatisfactory 1-59 Pass 60-100 Fail 0-59

Work placement
The priority objectives of the educational program are the training of specialists capable of solving complex problems and environmental problems in the field of natural sciences, which involves conducting independent original scientific research. The attainment of this objective is ensured by laboratory work in individual disciplines, specialized/profile laboratory practice, educational, vocational and undergraduate practice; conducting scientific work in the laboratories of the institute or research partner institutions in Ukraine and, in the exercise of the right to academic mobility, in leading educational or research institutions in other countries.
