Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know: about global and local environmental threats and ways to eliminate them; laws of ecology; basics of environmental legislation (Ukraine and international); international and domestic environmental organizations and the essence of their activities. 2. Be able to: find environmental information from open sources. 3. Have basic skills: analysis of quality and reliability, compliance with scientific criteria of information about the state of the environment, placed in the media.
Course content
Nowadays, in the conditions of the ecological crisis, the issue of training professional specialists - journalists who will professionally cover the topic - has become extremely acute. environmental protection. Most of the authors of environmental publications are journalists who are fluent in the word, but they lack in-depth knowledge of ecology and natural sciences. The introduction of the discipline "Environmental Journalism" for students of biology specialization "Environmental Security" involves their professional competence in nature protection, awareness of current environmental issues in the world and Ukraine. This course will help students choose their field, their own topics and issues in multifaceted environmental journalism, it will help develop the professional skills needed to prepare quality media material on environmental protection.
