Learning outcomes
To display knowledge of different types of interpretation and translation, methods of micro-abstracting and compression of the text, the system of records in consecutive translation, translation techniques and transformations, professional terminology and clichés inherent in professional texts in Ukrainian and English; set expressions; structural and compositional features of different types of essays and annotations, as well as the vocabulary in Ukrainian and English languages.
To carry out consecutive translation: paragraph and phrase translation using clear and expressive pronunciation skills at the required pace for the translator, consecutive interpreting using a special recording system, two-way interpretation using clear and expressive pronunciation skills at the required pace for the translator.
Conclude different types of abstract translation: abstract-summary, abstract in descriptive form, abstract-review on the basis of the source text.
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
The student must be able to produce a complete written translation of scientific, publisictic and official texts, making them adequate using lexical and grammatical means; to have habits and skills of translation techniques and transformations, primary skills of abstract translation (abstract - essay and abstract in descriptive form).

Module 1.
Topic 9. Key information and redundancy of the text.
Topic 10. Quantum text structure and speech segmentation.
Topic 11. Speech compression and microreferencing.
Topic 12. Text transformation.
Module 2.
Topic 13. Stereotype language means in thematic expressions.
Topic 14. Technique and etiquette of the interpreter's oral speech.
Topic 15. Common symbols and abbreviations in consecutive translation.
Topic 16. The procedure for making records in a consecutive translation and converting records into text.
