Learning outcomes
As a result of studying the course, students should learn the basic concepts and definitions of the course, comprehensively analyze the main scientific works and concepts regarding the social functions of the museum, know the main principles of the social function of the museum, be able to reveal all the social functions of the museum, carry out a historical and pedagogical analysis and reveal the trends in the development of the museum as social phenomenon. To be able to define the educational component of the museum, its specific features.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know:
- basic concepts and definitions of museology;
- properties, types and types of museums;
- the stages of the formation of museology in the history of mankind and the main ideas of national public opinion regarding museology.
2. Be able to:
- critically analyze various information, independently select literature and work with sources;
- use research methodology in the field of museology;
- apply techniques and methods of museology in historical, local history, ethnographic and other studies with the aim of using them for educational purposes.
3. Possess:
- ability to abstract thinking, analysis, synthesis;
- readiness for self-development, self-realization, use of creative potential;
- readiness for public speaking in the field, to prove one's own conclusions, proposals, arguments.
Course content
The content of the course consists of 1 content module, which includes lectures, seminars, independent work of students, ending with a rating control of the level of assimilation of knowledge of the program material of the course.

Assessment methods and criteria
The control of the student's knowledge is carried out according to the modular rating system. The total number of student points is formed by the semester points received from all topics of two content modules (points received for modular control papers (in the form of tests); points received for completing individual tasks; points received for work in seminar classes, as well as points which are received for the final control work.
The results of students' educational activities are evaluated on a 100-point scale.
The criteria for evaluating a student's answer are:
• complete disclosure of the issue
• the logic of presentation
• use of basic and additional literature
• analytical reasoning, the ability to draw conclusions
