Learning outcomes
PLO 9. Describe theoretical foundations (concepts, categories, principles, basic concepts, etc.) and applied aspects of the Russian language and literature. Collect and systematise linguistic and literary facts, interpret texts of different styles and genres. Carry out a scientific analysis of linguistic and literary material, interpret and structure it taking into account classical and modern methodological principles, formulate generalisations based on independently processed data. Explain the existence of specific philological issues and one's own point of view on them and its justification to both specialists and the general public, including students, in an accessible and reasoned manner.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Proficiency in Russian at a level that allows communication in all areas of activity. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of grammar, successful completion of the course "Morphology and Syntax of the Russian Language in Functional Aspect".
Course content
The course is purely practical. It covers a wide range of linguistic material, is based on the language system of the Russian language, on systemic relations based on the deep interconnection of grammar and vocabulary. The discipline generalises, systemises and deepens knowledge about the functioning of individual lexical and grammatical systems, about the linguistic means of expressing functional and semantic categories and various semantic relations in a sentence, about the structure of a sentence, ways of expressing the subject and predicate, about word order and other stylistic (expressive) means of designing a Russian sentence in accordance with a specific communicative task.

Practical classes, independent work. Project method in the form of working with information (observation, analysis); explanatory and illustrative and explanatory and demonstrative methods; independent collection and analysis of information (in writing), observation of language and speech; independent work with scientific and reference literature; search and research methods; practical classes with analysis of specific situations; training methods, various speech strategies and tactics; integrative methods and techniques (question and answer session, group discussion); practical classes-conferences; description of language and speech means specific to different styles of speech in the applied aspect.
Assessment methods and criteria
Oral answer, participation in the discussion, completion of independent tasks, CR, independent collection and analysis of information (in writing). Assessment of student knowledge and skills is carried out systematically, in accordance with the thematic plan of practical classes.
