PLO 1. Communicate freely on professional issues with experts and non- experts in Ukrainian, English and in two Western European languages, in oral and in written form, use these languages to organize effective cross-cultural communication. PLO 11. Know the principles, technologies and techniques of oral and written texts of different genres and styles creation in Ukrainian, English and two other Western European languages. PLO 14. Use English and two other Western European languages in oral and written form, in different genre-style varieties and registers of communication (formal, informal, neutral), for solving communicative tasks in everyday, public, educational, professional and academic spheres of life. PLO 21.2. Know modern financial, economic and legal terminology, use it accurately in the English-language communication and translation of the English-language texts.

Full-time form

1. Knowledge of the main translation categories and the general principles of written and oral translation. 2. Ability to adequately apply basic translation techniques. 3. Proficiency in English at a level C1 and above and in Ukrainian at a level not lower than C2.

The academic discipline " Translation of texts on Finance and Economics" is a part of the set of students’ free choice disciplines: "Linguistics. Business English and Communication". Alongside the other disciplines of this set, it trains students for professional translation activities in various fields of economy, science and technology. The discipline introduces students to the main genres of financial and economic texts and the peculiarities of their translation in the language pair English ↔ Ukrainian; it forms the communicative competence of future translators, necessary for mediation in the financial and economic sphere; improves general translation skills and abilities.

The term final grade consists of a weighted average grade for all types of academic activities, taking into account the weighting factor. All types of work for the term have as a result: - in the maximum dimension - 100 points, -minimum - 60 points. Final assessment: The final number of points for the discipline (maximum 100 points) is determined as the sum of points for systematic work during the term. The “pass” is given based on the results gained over the term. Therefore, the final grade in the discipline (minimum 60, maximum 100 points) consists of the sum of the number of points for the term work.
