PLO 4. Analyze and evaluate the problems of international and national security, international and internationalized conflicts, approaches, methods, and mechanisms of ensuring security in the international space and in the foreign policy of states. PLO 15. Know the basic rules and methods of collecting and processing journalistic information on international topics, the laws of creating journalistic materials of various genres.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know: the basic concepts of the theory of communication and public relations, types and models of communication, the basics of organizing and conducting PR-campaigns, the specifics of communication technologies, to distinguish media channels. Be able to: analyze the current state and trends in the world media, use information from mass communication channels to prepare analytical and review materials. Have basic skills: elementary skills in researching the content of national and world mass communication media, have basic knowledge of their typification, distinguish between their genre palette, the interaction of political and media systems, have basic skills in preparing analytical journalistic materials.
Course content
Module 1. Theoretical and methodological foundations of international media analytics. Introduction. Topic 1. International media analytics as a professional activity. Conceptual principles of professional activity in the field of international media analytics. Analytical work of an international journalist. Topic 2. Media analytical methods and their application in the work of an international journalist: big data, popular journalism, micro-targeting. Rating as a tool and result of media analytical work. Topic 3. Work with databases and authors. Actual data and their correct generalization. Fact-checking tools. Fakeness of media information and methods of fact verification for media dissemination. Topic 4. Journalistic investigations as a type of analytical journalism. OSINT technologies and their application in media practice. Module 2. Applied aspects of the analytical work of an international journalist. Topic 5. Leading analytical genres in international journalism and their application in different types of media. Topic 6. Analytical commentary: features of the genre, journalistic techniques, vocabulary, choice of topic, requirement of relevance and "history of the question". Consideration of domestic and foreign cases. Topic 7. Analytical article: features of the genre, journalistic techniques, vocabulary, choice of topic, academic and popularity. Consideration of domestic and foreign cases. Topic 8. Review of foreign media as an analytical genre: selection method. Maintaining a journalistic balance. Consideration of domestic and foreign cases. Final control work.

Assessment methods and criteria
Forms of assessment: the level of achievement of all planned learning outcomes is determined by the results of student work in seminars, the quality of preparation of written independent, tests, case studies, presentations, and individual presentations. Semester assessment is carried out in the form of testing of knowledge and skills: activity and quality of speeches, reports at seminars, participation in discussions, quality of prepared presentations, activity in discussing reports and subject discussions - up to 60 points (on average up to 10 points per seminar, at least 6 seminars, 6x10 = 60 points), the threshold level of positive evaluation - 35 points. Test module work - up to 20 points. Modular work is accepted in due time. The course has 2 meaningful parts. The discipline ends with a test. The credit score is calculated as the simple sum of the points obtained by the student during the semester. Up to 20 points are awarded.
