Learning outcomes
Acquaintance of students with the basics of television theory and the latest technologies of creating a television product, in particular, the theoretical and practical foundations of journalistic activity.
To know the basic models of informational and analytical television broadcasting and trends and directions of activity of modern television both in Ukraine and in the world.
To be able to collect and work with facts, write informative messages, record interviews, stand-up, do press reviews, international reviews, comments, talk shows.
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
- knowledge of the theoretical and practical foundations of television journalism;
- ability to analyze, evaluate and prepare television materials on various topics;
- possession of skills related to the organization and conduct of filming, to know the technology of editing and to combine words and images on the TV screen.
Course content
Introduction
Topic 1. Television and society. Social and technical prerequisites for the emergence and progress of TV.
Topic 2. Social functions of television in democratic societies.
Topic 3. Television in Ukraine in the 1970s and 1990s and the period of independence.
Topic 4. Visual and expressive means of television.
Topic 5. Peculiarities of the creative process on television.
Topic 6. Information service on television.
Credit modular work 1.
Topic 7. Genres of information broadcasting.
Topic 8. Television report.
Topic 9. Analytical and journalistic genres of television.
Topic 10. Television talk show programs.
Topic 11. The concept of a television program.
Topic 12. Journalistic investigations.
Topic 13. Development of television in different countries and globalization of television space.

Assessment methods and criteria
1) defense of individual tasks;
2) modular tests.
3) exam.
Students can receive up to 60 points for individual work and writing module tasks.
In laboratory classes, students perform practice-oriented tasks, which are assessed with a maximum of 10 points (threshold level of a positive assessment - 2 points).
The content module includes all topics. Mandatory for the test is the performance of individual work provided for in the work program of the discipline.
