Prerequisites and co-requisites
Knowledge: the concept of mutual aid and mutual support group; norms of group work; ethics of group work aimed at support and personal growth; processes and stages of group dynamics; the role of the facilitator and the requirements for his personality. Skills: adequately use the methods of different areas of psychological practice to support the subject during the group form of work; determine the features of the application of methods of psychological influence depending on different theoretical and methodological directions in the conditions of group work; distinguish between the activities of the facilitator and the group coach; choose methods of work per the peculiarities of mental and personal development of the subject to self-actualize and prevent the emergence of destructive behaviors; to organize group work according to humanistic organizational and methodical provisions.
Course content
The purpose of teaching the discipline "Mutual Support Groups" is the formation of professional competencies of a social worker in the field of group work, as well as personal and professional preparation for future professional activities; get knowledge and skills needed by a social worker to provide psychological assistance to psycho-corrective group work. The subject of the activity of mutual support groups is to increase the self-awareness of participants, their self-esteem, self-confidence, as well as the development of ways of self-expression and self-realization.

Assessment methods and criteria
1. Independent work on creative and reproductive exercises - up to 10 points for each 2. Keeping a reflexive diary - 10 points. 3. Participation in group discussions – up to 5 points for each 4. Modular test – up to 15 points Final evaluation in the form of a test – up to 40 points The number of points: • 1-34 corresponds to the grade "unsatisfactory" with the obligatory re-study of the discipline; • 35-59 corresponds to the assessment of "unsatisfactory" with the possibility of retake; • 60-64 corresponds to the assessment "satisfactory" ("sufficient"); • 65-74 corresponds to the assessment "satisfactory"; • 75 - 84 corresponds to the assessment of "good"; • 85 - 90 corresponds to the assessment "good" ("very good"); • 91 - 100 corresponds to the rating "excellent" To obtain an overall positive grade in the discipline, the score for the test may not be less than 24 points, the minimum number of points of admission to the test 36 points
