Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful completion of courses: "Chinese language: basic level", "Introduction to Oriental philology", "Theory and practice of translation", "Linguistic and Country Studies", "Introduction to linguistics", etc.; 2. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of translation studies, cultural studies, literary studies and linguistics. 3. Possession of written translation skills. 4. The ability to reproduce the maximum volume of information in a foreign language in one's native language.
Course content
The goal of the discipline is for students to acquire practical skills in the professional use of the Chinese language in the field of translation; understanding the specifics of the translator's work with Chinese creolized texts, mastering the basic theoretical and methodological tools for adequate reproduction of information, content "coverage", national specifics of the Chinese-language original in the Ukrainian translation. The ability to analyze the verbal and non-verbal part of the text in order to achieve a coherent translation and achieve an adequate communicative purpose of the text. The discipline belongs to the selective block "Chinese Studies: Linguistic Culture and Translation".

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course provides for the following forms of training organization: practical classes conducted using interactive learning methods, and independent work. The main types of work and, accordingly, the objects of semester control are: an answer to a seminar class, a report with a presentation, modular control works with open answers. Detailed planned educational activities and teaching methods are presented in the work program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the learned material, in particular theoretical training, which is 40% of the total assessment, and practical training, which is 60% of the total assessment. The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student for classroom work and for independent work; As a result: in the maximum dimension of 100 points, in the minimum dimension 60 points. The discipline ends with a getting a credit, which is set based on the results of the student's work throughout the semester and does not provide for additional assessment measures. Evaluation criteria are presented in the working program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
