Learning outcomes
PLO 11. Know the principles, technologies and methods of creating oral and written texts of various genres and styles in the state, Polish, English and Lithuanian languages. PLO 13. Analyze and interpret works of Ukrainian and foreign fiction and oral folk art, determine their specificity and place in the literary process (by specialization: Slavic languages and literatures (including translation), the first is Polish). PLO 15. To carry out linguistic, literary and special philological analysis of texts of various styles and genres. PLO 17. Collect, analyze, systematize and interpret the facts of language and speech and use them to solve complex problems and problems in specialized areas of professional activity and/or learning. PLO 22.1. To apply the knowledge of Polish and Lithuanian within the framework of linguistic and regional studies and tourism discourses. PLO 23.1. To be able to identify the national-cultural component in the structure of the Polish and Lithuanian languages.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful completion of the course requires knowledge of the basics of the grammar of the modern Lithuanian language; mastery of reading, writing, listening and speaking skills at the level provided for by the program of the 1st and 2nd years of study; knowledge of general linguistic terminology and term system. The student should have an idea of language as the main means of cultural transmission, a way of forming and expressing a special picture of the world that reflects the peculiarities of ethnic culture. The student must have the skills to establish cause-and-effect relationships between historical events and analyze their impact on cultural development, the ability to generalize.
Course content
To get acquainted with the main theoretical foundations of the linguistic and regional studies of Lithuania, the expansion of the cultural and historical horizons and knowledge of folkloristics, which in turn allows to reveal more the ethnic specificity of the traditional and everyday culture of Lithuanians, as well as to trace the current trends in the development of Lithuanian linguistic culture. Improvement of general philological training, formation of skills for working with ethno-specific, linguistic and extra-linguistic objects, formation of linguistic, communicative and linguistic competence in order to prepare for further practical activities and development of linguistic, speech and socio-cultural competence of students. The study of the culture and folklore of the country provides future specialists in the field of linguistics and intercultural communication with background knowledge, in particular the realities of Lithuanian language and culture, which are necessary for successful intercultural communication.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, practical classes, creative and research tasks, independent work.
Assessment methods and criteria
The form of final control is an exam. The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student during the semester. The overall grade for the semester consists of points received for classroom work (oral answers, tests) and for independent work. A student can get a minimum of 60 points per semester, 40 points on the exam, and a maximum of 100 points.
