Learning outcomes
As a result of studying the course, students should learn the basics of the theory of museology, the properties of museum objects, the basics of museum source studies, the composition and structure of museum funds, the main directions of the scientific fund work of museums, the essence of museum exposition, the main methods of building expositions, the methodology and main stages of creating museum expositions and exhibitions, the essence of cultural and educational activities of museums, the main directions of museum pedagogy research, the basic forms of cultural and educational activities of museums, the basics of work on the museification of monuments, new museum technologies; to be able to orientate in the literature on the problems of museology and the history of the museum business, to select the most important information from the information, to systematize it.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. To know the most important facts, events and processes of the historical past of mankind; the history of the museum business.
2. To be able to determine the characteristic features that are characteristic for the emergence of the phenomenon of collecting, for the formation of methodological and theoretical foundations of modern
museology.
3. Possess elementary skills of source criticism, historical analysis, establishment of cause and effect relationships.
Course content
The content of the course is divided into 2 content modules. Each content module includes lectures, seminars, independent work of students, which are completed by rating control of the level of assimilation of knowledge of the program material of the corresponding part of the course. Content module 1 (СМ1) includes topics 1-9, content module 2 (СМ2) includes topics 10-14.

Assessment methods and criteria
The control of the student's knowledge is carried out according to the modular rating system. The total number of student points is formed by the semester points obtained from all topics of two content modules (points obtained during seminars (oral surveys); points obtained for the completion of essays; points obtained during the module control (for the completion of control tasks), as well as points received during the final control (exam), namely: for completing the proposed tasks.
Assessment of student knowledge success is carried out in two forms: semester assessment (tests, oral survey, essays) and final assessment (exam).
The total number of points is 100 points (of which, the semester assessment is a maximum of 60 points; the final assessment (exam) is a maximum of 40 points).
