Learning outcomes
The results are students' acquisition of knowledge about the main historical and cultural events in the world history of art; able to show them as aspects of the natural genesis of culture, as a single process where art is a link in the general cultural process of human development; understanding of art as a cultural phenomenon, the function of socio-economic, natural-ecological and psychological factors; training a student in professional analytical evaluation of a work of architecture, the ability to identify a work with a certain era, master, style, philosophical and scientific concept, formation of skills of perception and analysis of works of art; acquisition of general skills of using art assets in one's own creative process.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. To know the course of historical events in the territories of Western Europe, Asia and Africa; key concepts of art history; 2. Be able to identify and critically analyze scientific publications on the history of art; describe and interpret works of art; 3. Possess elementary skills of source criticism, historical analysis, establishment of cause and effect relationships.
Course content
The content of the course is divided into 2 content modules. Each content module includes lectures, seminars, independent work of students, which are completed by rating control of the level of assimilation of knowledge of the program material of the corresponding part of the course. Content module 1 (СМ1) includes topics 1-8, topics 9-13 are included in content module 2 (СМ2).

Assessment methods and criteria
The control of the student's knowledge is carried out according to the modular rating system. The total number of student points is formed by the semester points obtained from all topics of the two content modules (points obtained during seminars (oral surveys); points obtained for the completion of essays; points obtained during the module control (for the completion of test tasks), as well as points received during the final control (exam), namely: for completing the proposed tasks. Assessment of student knowledge success is carried out in two forms: semester assessment (tests, oral survey, essays) and final assessment (exam). The total number of points is 100 points (of which, the semester assessment is a maximum of 60 points; the final assessment (exam) is a maximum of 40 points).
