Learning outcomes
1.1 Know the conceptual apparatus and relevant terminology, historiography, sources from the ancient and medieval history of Ukraine
1.2 Know program factual material from the ancient and medieval history of Ukraine, the essence, nature and genesis of historical phenomena, cause-and-effect relationships of historical events and processes, the main stages of ethnogenesis and culturogenesis of the population in modern Ukrainian lands, the formation of its statehood; political, economic, social, ethnic, cultural processes and phenomena that took place in Kievan Rus and the Galicia-Volyn state, on Ukrainian lands during the late Middle Ages.
2.1 To be able to identify and process historical sources of various types. To work independently with scientific literature on the ancient and medieval history of Ukraine.
2.2 To be able to analyze historical facts, formulate and properly substantiate conclusions from specific aspects of the ancient and medieval history of Ukraine.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know modern methods of historical knowledge; historical and political terminological and conceptual apparatus.
2. To be able to independently deepen one's knowledge by searching and processing new information using modern technical means; scientifically assess the role of subjective and objective factors in the historical process, events and phenomena.
3. Possess elementary skills of historical analysis, source criticism.
Course content
The content of the course is divided into 2 content modules. Each content module includes lectures, seminars, independent work of students, which are completed by rating control of the level of assimilation of knowledge of the program material of the corresponding part of the course. Content module 1 (ЗМ1) includes topics 1-5, content module 2 (ЗМ2) includes topics 6-13

Assessment methods and criteria
The control of the student's knowledge is carried out according to the modular rating system. The total number of student points is formed by the semester points received from all topics of two content modules (points received for modular control papers (in the form of tests); points received for completing individual tasks; points received for work in seminar classes, as well as points which are received for the final control work.
The results of students' educational activities are evaluated on a 100-point scale.
The criteria for evaluating a student's answer are:
• complete disclosure of the issue
• the logic of presentation
• use of basic and additional literature
• analytical reasoning, the ability to draw conclusions
