Learning outcomes
- to know the normative and legal framework that regulates activity in the sphere of culture of Ukraine; - to know typical organizational structures and job instructions of employees of museum institutions; - to know the mechanisms of personnel, financial, and material support of museum institutions; - to know the basic concepts of management in the field of culture; - to know the essence and specifics of management of museum institutions, principles and stages of activity planning, methods of strategic management and marketing, basics of project management; - to be able to collect, systematize, summarize and present information about the original and creative experience of the functioning of modern cultural institutes; - to be able to identify the main problems of statutory and economic and administrative activities of museum institutions; - to be able to analyze the state of the museum's work for the purpose of current and future planning.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. To know - basic concepts and terms of museum affairs; - the basics of Ukrainian legislation in the field of culture and museum affairs; - areas of activity and organizational structure of museum institutions; - the role of museum institutions in society; - trends in the development of the museum industry in Ukraine and the world. 2. To be able to - apply the main terms and categories of museum business; - determine the sequence and interdependence of processes in the field of culture; - to collect and interpret information about cultural phenomena and phenomena cultural processes; - collect, systematize and present information about experience functioning of modern museum institutions; - identify the main problems of museum institutions and their functioning public administration in Ukraine. 3. Have elementary skills - work with scientific literature and source criticism; - use of foreign language professional sources; - scientific research and information management.
Course content
The content of the course is divided into 2 content modules. Each content module includes lectures, seminars, independent work of students, which are completed by rating control of the level of assimilation of knowledge of the program material of the corresponding part of the course. Content module 1 (СМ1) includes topics 1 – 5 (includes classes on presentations of independent work), content module 2 (СМ2) – topics 6 – 12.

Assessment methods and criteria
The control of the student's knowledge is carried out according to the modular rating system. The total number of student points is formed by the semester points obtained from all topics of the two content modules (points obtained during the blitz survey; points obtained for the completion of essays; points obtained during the module control (for the completion of test tasks), as well as points, received during the final control (exam). Assessment of students' knowledge success is carried out in two forms: semester assessment (tests, oral blitz survey, essays) and final assessment (exam). The total number of points is 100 points (of which, the semester assessment is a maximum of 60 points; the final assessment (exam) is a maximum of 40 points). The criteria for evaluating a student's answer are: • complete disclosure of the issue; • the logic of presentation; • use of basic and additional literature; • analytical reasoning, the ability to draw conclusions.
