Learning outcomes
PLO 16. To know and understand the basic concepts, theories and concepts of folkloristics, linguistics and literary studies, to be able to apply them in professional activities. PLO 23.To characterize the semantics and pragmatics of rituals and ceremonial complexes. PLO 25.2. Apply in practice the knowledge of the prototypes, motifs, formulas, and architecture of texts of various genres and subgenres typical of the world epic; to reveal in the textual space of the Ukrainian folk epic allusions to world cultural heritage (according to the selective block "Mythology and folklore of the peoples of the world")

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful completion of courses: "Ukrainian Folklore", "Mythology", "World Epic", "Ukrainian and Foreign Culture".
Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of the traditional culture of the peoples of the world, mythology.
Possession of the methodology of scientific research, search and processing of educational and scientific information; use of professional informative sources; critical attitude to the analyzed phenomena; works with folklore, mythological, and world epic texts.
Ability to work with various sources of educational and scientific information, process it, make generalizations and conclusions; collect and analyze information about the mythological traditions of the peoples of the world; evaluate own knowledge; use interactive and multimedia tools.
Course content
The goal of the discipline is the initial systematic familiarization of III-year undergraduate students with the theoretical and applied aspects of mythology as a scientific discipline and the features of its vector structure: myth, ritual, rite.
Abstract. The study of the theoretical aspects of the study of myth, ritual and rite can begin from different search positions and in different methodological and methodical aspects. The course "Myth, ritual, rite" is one of the basic ones for the professional training of a Ukrainian folklorist, as it prepares students for full-fledged scientific work in the study of folklore-applied connections, introducing them to theoretical concepts and applied methods, techniques and methods of collecting and analyzing folklore text.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course includes the following forms of education: lectures, seminars, presentations, independent work, and an exam. During the semester, after the lectures on the relevant topics, seminar classes are held, during which evaluation is carried out.
Assessment methods and criteria
The final number of points for the discipline (maximum 100 points) is defined as the sum of points for systematic work during the semester, taking into account the final assessment (exam). Admission to the exam requires the student to successfully complete assignments and work throughout the semester.
Therefore, the final grade for the discipline (minimum 60, maximum 100 points) consists of the sum of the number of points for the semester work (minimum 36, maximum 60 points) and the final assessment - the exam (minimum 24, maximum 40 points).
