To possess knowledge of physics and mathematics to the extent required for high school graduates, basic skills in searching for information using the Internet.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to provide students with knowledge of the scientific picture of the world around them based on the achievements and ideas of modern science, to develop their ability to perceive and analyze information. To teach students to think creatively and find non-trivial approaches to solving current scientific problems. The discipline reveals the scientific approach to the interpretation of phenomena and processes and the methods used in this process, the correlation of scientific and artistic approaches to the knowledge of the world. The path of science to modern ideas about the world, the role of scientific revolutions in the knowledge of the world are covered. Particular attention is paid to modern ideas about the nano- and microcosm and their role in future technologies.

Assessment methods and criteria
Forms of student assessment (max. 100 points, min. 60 points): the level of achievement of all planned learning outcomes is determined by: Control work 1 (test): 50 points/ 30 points. Control work 2 (test): 50 points/ 30 points. Final assessment in the form of a credit. The results of students' learning activities are evaluated on a 100-point scale. The condition for obtaining a positive final grade for the discipline is to achieve at least 60% of the maximum possible number of points. If the final score is 60 points or more, the student is awarded a pass. Passed 60-100 Fail 0-59
