Learning outcomes
Features of the formation of the chemical composition of natural waters at great depths. Features of groundwater movement and brines. Basic conditions for the formation of groundwater oil and gas fields. Genetic types of oil and gas basin waters. Methods of oil and gas hydrogeological research. Ability to construct and interpretation the hydrogeochemical and hydrogeodynamic maps and sections. Ability to perform hydrogeological research in the search, exploration and production of oil and gas. Ability to assess the oil exploration and industrial value of groundwater.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Knowledge of the discipline "Hydrogeology". Knowledge of physics, chemistry, mathematics (at the level of non-core specialties). Have basic skills in working with a personal computer.
Course content
Introduction to different types of groundwater, their geochemical composition and genesis in order to determine the role of groundwater in the migration and accumulation of oil and gas deposits. Formation of the ability to perform hydrogeological research in the search, exploration and production of oil and gas. Estimation of oil exploration and industrial significance of groundwater.

Lectures, practical work, independent work of students.
Assessment methods and criteria
The control is carried out according to the modular rating system and involves: performing 4 practical works (where students must demonstrate the quality of acquired knowledge and solve problems using the methods and tools outlined by the teacher), conducting 2 written modular tests. The final assessment is conducted in the form of a written test.
