Learning outcomes
PLO 21. Interpret, summarize, annotate, and adequately translate oral and written texts of various styles and genres from German, English, and Ukrainian languages, excluding highly specialized texts. PLO 25. Demonstrate skills in using innovative technologies and various translation resources, as well as translation automation tools. PLO 26. Conduct stylistic editing of Ukrainian texts. PLO 27.2. Demonstrate proficiency in professional languages. PLO 28.2 Demonstrate the ability to carry out written and oral industry-specific translations from German and English to Ukrainian and vice versa.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Proficiency in German language not lower than B2 level, proficiency in Ukrainian language not lower than C1 level, knowledge of the systems of German and Ukrainian languages, successful completion of courses like "Introduction to Translation Studies", "Comparative Lexicology of German and Ukrainian Languages", "Comparative Grammar of German and Ukrainian Languages", "Terminology".
Course content
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the peculiarities of German professional language of economics and banking, the specifics and difficulties of translating financial and economic texts, mastering the knowledge, skills and abilities of written and oral translation of financial and economic texts from a foreign language into their native language and from their native language into a foreign one. The discipline consists of two substantive parts. The first includes theoretical questions of translation of financial and economic texts, the second - issues of practice of translation of financial and economic texts. Lecture material allows students to familiarize themselves with the key issues of economic translation, in particular, differences in the language of economics compared to other professional languages, reasons for difficulties in translating financial and economic texts and ways to overcome them. Practical tasks are aimed at developing translation skills based on authentic texts: encyclopedia articles, newspaper articles (section "Economy"), contracts and trade agreements, etc.

Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge assessment is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides a two-level assessment of the mastered material, in particular, the assessment of theoretical training - learning outcomes, which makes up 20% of the total grade, and the assessment of practical training - learning outcomes, which makes up 80% of the total grade. The semester's number of points is formed by the points obtained by the student in the process of mastering the material from all topics of the content module and performing independent and individual tasks (compiling a glossary, translating educational video). The final assessment is in the form of a credit. The credit is given based on the student's work throughout the semester and does not envisage additional assessment measures for successful students.
