Learning outcomes
PLO 1. Communicate freely on professional issues with experts and non- experts in Ukrainian, German and English, in oral and in written form, use these languages to organize effective cross-cultural communication. PLO 2. Process information effectively: collect relevant information from a variety of sources, including professional literature and electronic databases, critically analyze and interpret it, organize, classify and systematize it. PLO 3. Organize own learning and self-education process. PLO 7. Understand the major issues of philology and approaches to solving those using relevant methods and innovative approaches. PLO 11. Know the principles, technologies and techniques of oral and written texts of different genres and styles creation in Ukrainian, German and English. PLO 12. Analyse language units, determine their interaction, and characterize linguistic phenomena and the underlying processes. The full list is given in the description of the educational program.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
The bachelor's qualification work is a mandatory comprehensive form of assessment and final certification for students pursuing the "Translation from German and English" educational program. The prerequisites for undertaking the qualification work include successful completion of the curriculum requirements at the respective educational level.
Course content
The purpose of writing and defending the bachelor's qualification work is to assess the actual compliance of the graduate's educational and qualification level with the requirements of the educational and qualification characteristics of the specialty (field of study). The bachelor's qualification work involves conducting independent scientific research in the field of translation studies. The work aims to verify the professional knowledge in the subject area and demonstrate the level of proficiency of the individuals obtaining the "Bachelor" degree in linguistics and translation theory. It assesses their ability to perform comparative analysis of the original language material and the translated language, produce their own translation from German to Ukrainian, provide translation commentary, and practically apply translation techniques.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Consultations regarding questions related to the stages of writing a qualification paper include: - Defining the scope of scientific interests, determining the object and subject of research. Preliminary formulation of the research topic. Establishing the sequence of tasks, scope, and timeframe for completing the work. - Working on the structure and content of the practical part of the paper, including selecting optimal research methods, analysis, and classification of language material. - Formatting the textual material according to the new National Standard of Ukraine. Preparing the printed version of the paper and binding. - Submitting the paper for review. Understanding and addressing the reviewer's comments and suggestions. Preparing an explanatory note (preparation of presentation slides) for the defense. Conducting a preliminary defense. - Scientific presentation (speech during the defense) of the qualification paper. - Other matters.
Assessment methods and criteria
The assessment (maximum 100 points) for writing a bachelor's qualification paper consists of three components: - Evaluation by the scientific supervisor, which accounts for 25% of the total score for the student's research work. - Evaluation by the reviewer, which accounts for 30% of the total score for the student's research work. - Evaluation for the defense of the qualification paper, which is determined by the Examination Commission and accounts for 45% of the total score for the student's research work.
