Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful completion of the courses: "Practical Course of the First Language," "Introduction to Translation Studies," and "Practice of Written and Oral Translation" in the 2nd year. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of translation studies. Proficiency in German at the B1/B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, as well as basic translation skills from German to Ukrainian.
Course content
The aim of the discipline is to develop practical skills in written and oral translation for future translators. It aims to cultivate the ability to accurately reproduce texts of various genres, taking into account their lexical, grammatical, stylistic, pragmatic, and socio-cultural characteristics based on comprehensive theoretical knowledge of the structure, specifics, and strategies of translation for different types of texts. The discipline is one of the fundamental specialized subjects in the training of professionals in written and oral translation. The content of the discipline's proposed sections is adapted to the student audience. The discipline aims to equip students with a system of general theoretical knowledge and specific principles for the adequate reproduction of linguistic units, ranging from words, word combinations, idioms, structurally free collocations, various types of sentences, and texts.

Responses during practical classes, analytical presentations, written translation assessment, oral translation assessment.
Assessment methods and criteria
The assessment includes responses during practical classes (maximum score - 22 points), analytical presentations (18 points), oral and written translation assessments (20 points), and a comprehensive exam (maximum score - 40 points). The main criteria for assessment are the completeness and quality of mastering the educational material, as well as the translations performed.
