Course content
The discipline is devoted to
studying the main characteristics of modern satellite data from the ISR and
methods of their use for decoding clouds, atmospheric objects and
and the underlying surface; study of the structural features of cloud systems
synoptic scale in the process of their evolution atmospheric fronts,
tropospheric jet streams, cyclones and anticyclones of temperate latitudes;
study of mesoscale atmospheric processes and characteristic cloud systems observed by satellite
systems observed on satellite images, with recommendations for
assessment of the state of the atmosphere and weather phenomena in the areas of such clouds;
principles of using satellite data for weather analysis and forecasting
of the weather. Methods of forecasting the occurrence, evolution and
movement of synoptic objects using images of
cloud cover, diagnosing precipitation zones from cloud cover images and using
digital satellite data.
