Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. successful mastering of the discipline "Meteorology"; 2. knowledge of the theoretical foundations of atmospheric processes and phenomena; 3. knowledge of the theoretical foundations of differential and integral calculus.
Course content
Academic discipline "Hydrodynamic methods in meteorology. Fundamentals of synoptic meteorology" is one of the components of the comprehensive training of the specialty "Earth Sciences" in the program "Meteorology". Earth Sciences" under the Meteorology program. Since the weather forecast is a forecast of the values of of meteorological quantities, their time course and physical processes that lead to the formation of atmospheric phenomena, the discipline covers: types of types of meteorological information and methods of its presentation; basic meteorological quantities and their spatial distributions (fields); the concept of baric systems, atmospheric fronts and air masses; the concept of synoptic method concepts of synoptic weather forecasting; weather maps, aerological diagrams and vertical sections of the atmosphere. vertical sections of the atmosphere, their processing and analysis; the concept of hydrodynamic method of weather forecasting; conservation laws and system of equations of hydrothermodynamics; numerical (numerical) methods for solving the equations of hydrothermodynamics; general principles of construction of prognostic models based on full equations; the problem of predictability of atmospheric parameterization of atmospheric processes of subgrid scale; operational models operational models of weather forecasting and synoptic methods of weather forecasting.
