Learning outcomes
Be able to perform research on the atmosphere and other geospheres using quantitative methods of analysis (PLO09). Analyze the composition and structure of the atmosphere and other geospheres at different spatial and temporal scales (PLO10). To know and apply theories, paradigms, concepts and principles in the Earth sciences in accordance with the specialization (PLO 12). To know the laws of occurrence and development of atmospheric processes and phenomena; be able to identify, predict, model atmospheric processes and phenomena (PLO 16). Know the properties and patterns of interaction of the components of the Earth's climate system of the Earth's climate system, patterns of climate formation and climate change (PLO 17).

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. successful completion of the disciplines "Meteorology" and "Climatology"; 2. knowledge of theoretical foundations of physics, physical geography, ability to establish cause and effect relationships between phenomena and processes occurring in the the natural environment.
Course content
The academic discipline "General Circulation of the Atmosphere" is one of the components of the comprehensive of the Earth Sciences specialty within the Meteorology program. In the process of the main factors that influence the circulation of the Earth's atmosphere are considered. Earth's atmosphere; features of the general circulation in the troposphere and stratosphere; large-scale thermodynamic interactions in the ocean-atmosphere system.
