Learning outcomes
Know the basics of the theory of museology. To know the history of museology as a scientific discipline. Know the theory of museum objects. Know the essence of museum source studies. To know the main areas of research and foundation work. To know the essence of museum exposition work. Know the directions and methods of educational work of museums. Know the general concepts of modern museum management. To know the theory of museum communication. Know the basics of museum marketing. Know the latest information technologies in museum work. To be able to characterize the main theoretical problems of museology, the theory of museum objects, museum source studies, the main directions of practical work of museums. To be able to characterize new technologies in museum work, management and marketing issues in museum work.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. To know the most important facts, events and processes of the historical past of mankind; the history of the museum business. 2. To be able to determine the characteristic features that are characteristic for the emergence of the phenomenon of collecting, for the formation of methodological and theoretical foundations of modern museology. 3. Possess elementary skills of source criticism, historical analysis, establishment of cause and effect relationships.
Course content
The content of the course is divided into 2 content modules. Each content module includes lectures, seminars, independent work of students, which are completed by rating control of the level of assimilation of knowledge of the program material of the corresponding part of the course. Content module 1 (СМ1) includes topics 1-9, content module 2 (СМ2) includes topics 10-14. Assessment of student knowledge success is carried out in two forms: semester assessment (tests, oral survey, essays) and final assessment (exam). The total number of points is 100 points (of which, the semester assessment is a maximum of 60 points; the final assessment (exam) is a maximum of 40 points).

Assessment methods and criteria
The control of the student's knowledge is carried out according to the modular rating system. The total number of student points is formed by the semester points received from all topics of two content modules (points received for modular control papers (in the form of tests); points received for completing individual tasks; points received for work in seminar classes, as well as points which are received for the final control work. The results of students' educational activities are evaluated on a 100-point scale. The criteria for evaluating a student's answer are: • complete disclosure of the issue • the logic of presentation • use of basic and additional literature • analytical reasoning, the ability to draw conclusions
