Learning outcomes
PLO 1. Communicate freely on professional issues with experts and non- experts in Ukrainian, English and in two Western European languages, in oral and in written form, use these languages to organize effective cross-cultural communication. PLO 10. Know the rules of standard language and be able to apply them in practice. PLO 11. Know the principles, technologies and techniques of oral and written texts of different genres and styles creation in Ukrainian, English and two other Western European languages. PLO 14. Use English and two other Western European languages in oral and written form, in different genre-style varieties and registers of communication (formal, informal, neutral), for solving communicative tasks in everyday, public, educational, professional and academic spheres of life.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
The discipline "Translation Practice (Second Language - Ukrainain)” requires knowledge of the German language at a level A2 and above.
Course content
"Translation Practice (Second Language - Ukrainain)” is an integral part of the Education and professional program “English Studies and Translation and Two Western European Languages” aimed at the training of bachelors majoring in the specialty 035 Philology ("Germanic languages and literature (translation included)". The 5th term provides 4 credits (120 hours) for the discipline, which consist of 45 class hours and 75 hours of students’ individual work.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Training activities during the semester: • extra-curriculum exercises done individually, • creative projects; • mid-term control - written tests on four aspects of language competence; • responses during practice classes
Assessment methods and criteria
Term assessment: over the term, each module uses the following forms of assessment: written and oral poll, homework check, individual students’ work, testing, module tests. The course ends with a pass-or-fail. Students’ performance during the term is the sum of the points accumulated for their work in class and individual work and does not presuppose any additional assessment. The minimum passing score is 60, while the maximum score equals to 100.
