Prerequisites and co-requisites
The student must know: theories of social systems, features of group dynamics, and the formation and development history of social work methods, in particular group methods and community work methods. The student must be able to: analyze the content of key social work concepts; summarize and correlate different conceptual approaches to the study of social phenomena; analyze the existing legal framework for social work and social security; and apply theoretical models in practice. The student must have basic skills: public communication, activity planning, and performance evaluation.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to master students' knowledge of the basics of citizens' mobilization to solve community problems, preparing them for practical activities as coordinators of local development projects and programs and agents of social change. The subject of the discipline is the content and mechanisms for activating and mobilizing citizens to solve community problems. The discipline contains two content modules. The first module reveals the conceptual foundations of community development. The second module is devoted to the technological aspect of individual practices of community development and provides for the practical development of skills in the application of methods of community activation, assessment of its resources and needs, mobilization of resources, development and implementation of social projects, development of social services in the community by building partnerships.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, seminars, tasks for independent student work (analytical and creative research works). Survey, discussion, practical (individual and group) tasks, modular test (testing, practical task).
Assessment methods and criteria
Students are evaluated during all types of educational classes and based on the results of independent work. Prepared answer to seminar questions – 16 points (4 points each); tasks of independent work (analysis of cases on the practice of development and recovery of communities after crises; essays, analytical reports) – 18 points; practical tasks: training in the application of participatory and facilitation methods and tools for working with the community; conducting mini-community studies, developing own ideas of social changes – 21 points; self-assessment of involving and activity in classes – 5 points; modular control works (testing – 20 points, practical task (resource analysis, SWOT analysis, etc.) – 18 points) – a total of 40 points. The credit is awarded based on the student's work during the semester. It is mandatory to obtain a score by performing modular control work and obtaining a total of at least 60 points. Grading scheme: -Passed (60-100 points) Fail (0-59 points)
