PLO 7. Understand the main problems of philology (in particular in the field of Iranian studies) and approaches to their solution using appropriate methods and innovative approaches. PLO 15. Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to familiarize students with the basics of literary studies as a science based on the material of ancient literatures of the Near and Middle East.
The academic discipline "Introduction to Literary Studies (with a regional focus)" provides students with the history of literary studies and the specific features of one of the types of art - verbal, and the necessary components of literary analysis based on the material of ancient literatures of the Near and Middle East.

Assessment methods and criteria
The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student in the process of mastering the material from the entire academic course. The overall grade for the semester consists of points received for classroom work (which synthesizes and independent work on the processing of theoretical material in preparation for the classroom: oral answers, supplements, tests, presentation defense) and for independent work (preparation of a presentation, essay). In case of absence from a seminar class, the student must complete the assignment for the seminar. All types of work for the semester have a total of: in the maximum dimension - 100 points, in the minimum dimension - 60 points. - final assessment: credit.
