Learning outcomes
PLO 8. Evaluate historical achievements and the latest achievements of literary studies. PLO 9. Characterize theoretical foundations (concepts, categories, principles, basic concepts, etc.) and applied aspects of Arabic philology. PLO 10. Collect and systematize linguistic, literary, folklore facts, interpret and translate Arabic texts of various styles and genres. PLO 11. Carry out scientific analysis of linguistic, speech and literary material, interpret and structure it taking into account appropriate methodological principles, formulate generalizations based on independently processed data. PLO 17. Plan, organize, carry out and present research and/or innovative developments in the field of Arabic philology.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) successful mastery of the professional disciplines "Linguistics of Arab Countries", "History of Arabic Literature (Ancient and Classical Periods)"; 2) knowledge of the features of phonetics, vocabulary and grammar of the modern Arabic literary language, obtained from a practical course of the Arabic language.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to familiarize students with the best examples of contemporary prose and poetic works of modern Arabic literature through their socio-cultural reading and literary analysis, to provide an idea of ​​the development of the modern literary process of Arab countries in all its diversity, its features and characteristic features, the development of literary and critical thought in Arab countries at the present stage, and to outline the place of modern Arabic literature in the system of world literature.

Assessment methods and criteria
The semester number of points in the 2nd semester is formed by the points received by the student in the process of mastering the material from the entire academic course. The overall grade for the semester consists of points received for classroom work (which synthesizes and independent work on the processing of theoretical material in preparation for the classroom: oral answers, supplements, tests, presentation defense) and for independent work (preparation of a presentation, essay). In case of absence from a seminar class, the student must complete the assignment for the seminar. All types of work for the semester have a total of: - in the maximum dimension - 60 points, - in the minimum dimension - 36 points. Final assessment in the 2nd semester: exam.
