Learning outcomes
LO29.2 Perform written translation to ensure translation from Crimean Tatar into Ukrainian and vice versa in various fields of natural sciences. LO30.2 Perform oral and written translation to ensure translation from Crimean Tatar into Ukrainian and vice versa during conferences of various professional orientations. LO31.2 Analyze and apply the linguistic means necessary to ensure the translation of texts of various genres into the Crimean Tatar language.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know: 1) the basic principles of a military translator’s work; 2) basic medical terms and military terminology in the Crimean Tatar language; 3) stylistic features of translating scientific and technical literature; 4) the specifics of translating military and medical terminology; 5) the specifics of translating complex grammatical structures. Be able to: 1) translate scientific and technical texts in the medical and military fields; 2) concisely convey the meaning of complex syntactic structures in Ukrainian and/or Crimean Tatar without losing the intended meaning. Possess: 1) competencies in performing two-way translation (oral and written) in the military-medical field.
Course content
The objective of the course «Translation of military-medical texts (crimean tatar)» is to develop students’ professional translation competence, enabling them to produce accurate and equivalent translations of specialized texts in the field of military medicine. The course is designed to help students master military-medical and law enforcement terminology, as well as develop solid skills in specialized translation. The primary focus is on the specific terminology at the intersection of military affairs and medicine: from descriptions of combat injuries and Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) protocols to field hospital documentation and medical evacuation reports. This course is designed to help future professionals acquire the skills and competencies necessary for translating military-medical texts and to expand their relevant vocabulary.The course explores the specifics of specialized vocabulary and lays the foundation for students’ future research activities within their primary field of study. «Translation of military-medical texts (crimean Tatar language)» is one of the specialized courses in the elective block «Translation Studies» and plays a key role in the training of Master’s degree candidates in the specialty 035.02 “Philology (Crimean Tatar Language and Literature)” of the educational and research program «Crimean Tatar Philology, English Language, and Translation». The course is taken in the third semester of the second year of the Master’s program and concludes with an exam.

Assessment methods and criteria
Assessment is conducted according to the ECTS system, which involves a two-tier evaluation of the material covered, specifically an assessment of theoretical knowledgе - learning outcomes, accounting for 40% of the overall grade - and an assessment of practical skills, accounting for 60% of the overall grade. Assessment of semester work: 1. Work in practical classes: 10 - 20 points. 2. Creative assignment (project completion): 10 - 20 points. 3. Module assignment № 1: 8 - 10 points. 4. Module assignment № 2: 8 - 10 points. 5. Exam: 24 - 40 points.
