Learning outcomes
LO29.2 Perform written translation to ensure translation from Crimean Tatar into Ukrainian and vice versa in various fields of natural sciences. LO30.2 Perform oral and written translation to ensure translation from Crimean Tatar into Ukrainian and vice versa during conferences of various professional orientations. LO31.2 Analyze and apply the linguistic tools necessary to ensure the translation of various genres of texts into the Crimean Tatar language. LO32.2 Apply the acquired knowledge and skills during an off-site translation internship.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know: 1) the main recent scholarly works in the field of translation; 2) the theoretical foundations and practical methods and techniques of translation; 3) sociocultural information at a level necessary for translation; 4) the history of translation, its classification, translation strategies, and the meaning of key concepts in various models. Be able to: 1) apply acquired professional knowledge in practice, particularly during communication and translation; 2) apply acquired skills when communicating in the Crimean Tatar language. Possess the skills to: 1) prepare and adapt texts in various linguistic styles; 2) use the necessary information sources for translation.
Course content
The course “Specialized translation (crimean tatar)” provides comprehensive training for future specialists in crimean tatar translation. Throughout the program, master’s students master a range of translation methods, including consecutive interpreting techniques, and learn the specifics of working with specialized texts. Students refine their practical skills, expand their terminological base, and study specific aspects of translation practice. The course is designed with current labor market demands in mind and aims to provide a deep understanding of the theory and practice of translation in a multicultural environment, while also helping to expand professional vocabulary. This course covers various aspects of specialized translation and introduces students to the methodological tools used by professional translators. The primary focus is on working with texts in the fields of medicine, energy, construction, and military affairs. Practical sessions; independent study. The course “Specialized Translation (crimean tatar language)” is studied as part of the elective specialization within the “Translation studies” module for the master’s degree program and concludes with an exam in the second semester of the second year of study.

Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the material learned, in particular, the assessment of theoretical training - learning outcomes (knowledge), which accounts for 40% of the total grade, and the assessment of practical training - learning outcomes (skills), which accounts for 60% of the total grade. 1. Written translation with the use of dictionaries and Internet resources: 12 - 20 points. 2. Oral response (interpretation): 6 - 10 points. 3. Translation of the proposed video material and editing of texts: 6 - 10 points. 4. Control work: 12 - 20 points. 5. Exam: 24 - 40 points.
