Course content
The course “Methods of Teaching Literature in Secondary Schools” is included in the list of elective courses under the educational and professional program “Methods of Teaching Foreign Languages and Literatures in Higher Education” and is taught in the sixth semester to Master’s degree candidates, in accordance with the curriculum of the educational “Crimean Tatar Philology, English Language, and Translation.” The course covers the theoretical foundations of pedagogy, the specifics of analyzing literary texts (from folklore and classics of the Khanate period to contemporary prose), and focuses on conceptual issues in literary education, methods for teaching specialized courses, and the implementation of scientific approaches.
To ensure effective learning, all lectures are structured around discussion, debate, and conversation. The effectiveness of seminar sessions will be enhanced by the program’s provision for the completion of educational and research tasks, the justification of the need for a flexible approach by the instructor to the structure of the session, the creation of a lesson plan and its analysis according to provided outlines, and the creation of problem-based situations in literature classes to stimulate the pedagogical process.
Classes are conducted in the form of lectures and seminars in Ukrainian. The course is taught over one semester and concludes with a credit.
