LO2. Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know: 1) general principles for overcoming translation challenges using information technology; 2) distinguishing features of modeling and algorithmization methods; 3) characteristics of machine translation; 4) principles of computerized foreign language learning programs; 5) classification of linguistic information resources and databases. Be able to: 1) process textual, tabular, and graphical information; 2) use electronic resources and dictionaries in accordance with the given linguistic task; 3) master the tools and methods for solving linguistic tasks using modern information technologies. Possess: 1) the skills to critically evaluate and correct the results of artificial intelligence; 2) the skills to translate texts of various genres (scientific and technical, legal, journalistic) while adhering to the appropriate terminology.
Course content
The aim of this course is to develop systematic professional competencies in the field of translation process automation, as well as the effective use of artificial intelligence tools and localization technologies to significantly improve the quality and speed of translation from English into Crimean Tatar (and vice versa), taking into account the lexical, grammatical, and stylistic features of both languages. The course is designed to provide comprehensive training for modern Turkic studies translators through the mastery of innovative methodologies and digital tools in the translation industry. The key focus is on integrating specialized software and intellectual resources into the workflow, which significantly improves the quality and productivity of work. The course systematizes practical experience in English-Crimean Tatar translation, preparing competitive specialists capable of effectively combining deep linguistic knowledge with the advanced technological demands of the modern world. The course curriculum consists of two content modules—theoretical-methodological and practical-technological—and includes a final assessment in the form of credit.

Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the material learned, in particular, an assessment of theoretical training, which accounts for 40% of the total grade, and an assessment of practical training, which accounts for 60% of the total grade. Assessment of semester work: 1. Work in practical classes (preparation of assignments, oral response, work with dictionaries, text corpora, the Internet, written work, translation of audiovisual materials): 18 - 30 points. 2. Translations (independent work): 4 - 10 points. 3. Module test № 1: 12 - 20 points. 4. Module test № 2: 12 - 20 points. 5. Credit: 14 - 20 points.
