PLO 8. Evaluate historical achievements and the latest achievements of literary studies.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Before starting this course, students should
know: the main directions of modern literary studies; the relationship of literary studies with other humanitarian disciplines; have basic factual knowledge of a humanitarian nature.
Be able to: collect and interpret information on the features of the development of the literary process at different stages of socio-cultural development;
apply basic concepts in the analysis of literary phenomena and processes; plan and evaluate their own work; use interactive and multimedia tools.
Have elementary skills in scientific research and information management; a critical attitude to the analyzed phenomena; use foreign-language professional information sources; work with literary texts; produce complex oral and written messages; interact and cooperate in learning in situations of a search nature.
Course content
The subject of the academic discipline is memoir and epistolary work of famous Ukrainian writers of the 20th century.
The purpose of the discipline is to form in students the perception of writer's memoirs and epistolary work as a type of artistic creativity, a kind of literary document of the era. Providing students with a complex of theoretical and practical knowledge necessary to master the modern methodology of analyzing memoir and epistolary texts, developing systemic principles and means of analytical thinking, interpretative approaches that allow to clarify the characteristic features of such works.

Types of work: oral answers, participation in discussions, creative project, creative task (essay, review), abstract task.
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system.
The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student in the process of mastering the material from the entire academic course.
During the semester, assessment is carried out in accordance with the types of work and forms of control described in clause 7.1. The credit is issued based on the results of the student's work throughout the semester and does not provide for additional assessment measures. Students who have scored less than 60 points in total for the semester must prepare material on the topics for which the debt arose, in the form of writing independent and laboratory works, essays, or, if necessary, write a test paper.
