Prerequisites and co-requisites
The student must successfully master the following academic disciplines: "Ancient Ukrainian Literature: The Middle Ages", "Ancient Ukrainian Literature: Baroque", "History of Ukrainian Literature of the 19th Century", "History of Ukrainian Literature of the 20th Century".
Know:
- texts of works written during the 10th-18th centuries;
- their analysis and understanding in scientific literature from the point of view of European integration;
- the place of Ukrainian literature in the European space.
Be able to:
- analyze texts of sources of the 10th-18th centuries from the standpoint of their European model of thinking;
- critically evaluate scientific works devoted to the problem of the history of Ukrainian literature in the context of the European cultural space.
Possess elementary skills:
- text analysis;
- analysis of scientific works dedicated to Ukrainian and European cultural and historical eras.
Course content
The academic discipline "Modern Ukrainian Medieval Studies in the European Dialogue of Cultures" is dedicated to the study of the specifics of manifestations of Ukrainian literature in the context of European identity, the methodology of studying the problem, and the analysis of the phenomenon of national literature in the European cultural and historical space. The course presents the Kievan Rus' literature of the Middle Ages in its close integration into European culture; the literature of the Ukrainian Reformation and Renaissance as components of the European space, transnational in nature and direction, multi-contextual and multi-confessional; the literature of the Ukrainian Baroque in its large-scale integration into the European context; in general, ancient Ukrainian literature in its close ties with European cultural and historical vectors; the generalized European model of thinking of ancient Ukrainian literature.

Types of work: answers to a seminar class, creative tasks, final test/creative project.
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system.
The semester final grade is formed by the points received by the higher education applicant during the semester and the points received in the exam, the maximum distribution is carried out according to the following algorithm: 60 points (60%) - semester control and 40 points (40%) - exam.
The maximum number of points for the answer at the seminar is 3 (min. - 1), for the creative task - 3 (min. - 1), for the final control work - 12 (min. - 8).
The final assessment is carried out in the form of a comprehensive exam: the minimum number of points (positive grade), which are added to the semester ones - 24 points. The exam is carried out in the form of a written paper, the examination ticket consists of two theoretical questions.
