Learning outcomes
LO3. Apply modern methods and technologies, particularly information technologies, to successfully and effectively carry out professional activities and ensure the quality of scientific research in the field of Turkish philology. LO14. Create, analyze, and edit texts of various styles and genres. LO16. Apply specialized conceptual knowledge in Turkish philology to solve complex tasks and problems that require updating and integrating knowledge, often under conditions of incomplete or insufficient information and conflicting requirements. LO18. Present the results of one’s research to the academic community in scholarly publications or presentations at conferences, roundtables, seminars, etc. LO19. Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know: the basic methods of consecutive and simultaneous interpreting; techniques of note-taking. 2. Be able to: perform consecutive and simultaneous interpreting of texts in various styles; memorize large volumes of text and interpret them without preparation. 3. Possess the following skills: working in pairs or teams, taking shorthand for interpreting, and using simultaneous interpreting equipment.
Course content
The course “Conference Interpretation (Turkish)” is an elective course included in Elective Block 2, “Translation Studies.” The course is designed to develop translation skills and competencies that will help future professionals perform translation work at academic conferences, international forums, economic events, and similar venues. Throughout the course, information is provided on the specifics of conference interpreting, the basic principles of teamwork in multilingual interpreting are explained, and interpreting equipment and how to use it are studied. Additionally, students complete a series of exercises designed to develop memory and interpreting speed. Course Structure: Classes are conducted as practical sessions. Each session is divided into two main blocks focused on gaining practical knowledge regarding the organization of the conference interpreting process and performing various exercises to improve memory, interpreting speed, and the ability to interpret under specific conditions. During the sessions, various situations that may arise during the translation process are simulated, which in turn serves as preparation for future professional practice. Students are expected to prepare reports, presentations, and translation exercises.

Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the material learned, in particular, the assessment of theoretical training - learning outcomes (knowledge), which accounts for 30% of the total grade, and the assessment of practical training - learning outcomes (skills), which accounts for 70% of the total grade. 1. Oral answer: 5 -15 points. 2. Exercises: 25 - 35 points. 3. Translation cursive: 14 - 20 points. 4. Test paper: 8 - 15 points. 5. Modular control work: 8 - 15 points. 6. Credit: 12 - 20 points.
