LO14. Create, analyze, and edit texts of various styles and genres. LO28.2 Perform oral and written translation to ensure specialized translation from crimean tatar and turkish into ukrainian and vice versa in various professional fields. LO31.2 Analyze and apply the linguistic tools necessary to ensure the translation of texts of various genres into the crimean tatar language.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know: 1) interrelationships of text linguistics with other translation and linguistic disciplines; 2) the range of tasks of genre theories of translation. Be able to: 1) to study text linguistics in terms of genre and style from the point of view of rhetoric, comparative stylistics, language history, literature, cognitive linguistics and other philological disciplines; 2) apply translation transformations of various types to translate texts belonging to different functional styles, registers and genres; 3) translate texts of different genres and styles from Turkish into Ukrainian and vice versa orally and in writing.
Course content
The course “Genre Theories of Translation (Crimean Tatar Language)” is one of the key components of the comprehensive training program for master’s students in the “035 Philology” field of study. It aims to develop master’s students’ skills in researching genres, styles, and genre- and style-specific features of various text types, as well as cognitive-pragmatic approaches to text as an object of scientific research into cultural heritage information in translation from and into Turkish. The program includes lectures and seminars, with special attention given to independent work by master’s students. The curriculum for the first semester of the master’s program consists of the following content modules: Content Module 1. Theoretical Models of Translation Through the Prism of Genres; Content Module 2. Discursivity of the translation of implicit meanings. The lectures, seminars, and independent study sessions of Content Module 1 cover the study of genres, styles, genre and stylistic dominants of various text types, and cognitive-pragmatic approaches to text as an object of scientific research into cultural heritage information in translation from and into Turkish. The lectures and independent study sessions of Content Module 2 cover the discursive approach to text for obtaining equivalent cultural concepts in direct and reverse translation from Turkish and into Turkish of informative, sociocultural, sociopsychological, and literary texts (prose and poetry).

Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the material learned, in particular, the assessment of theoretical training - learning outcomes (knowledge), which accounts for 40% of the total grade, and the assessment of practical training - learning outcomes (skills), which accounts for 60% of the total grade. Assessment of semester work: 1. Abstract (work with different sources): 2 - 3 points. 2. Creative tasks: 9 - 15 points. 3. Scientific analysis of sources on the theory of genres and styles: 5 - 10 points. 4. Creative and research tasks: 5 - 10 points. 5. Processing of texts of different genres (in Ukrainian, Turkish): 5 - 10 points. 6. Oral presentations: 3 - 6 points. 7. Exam: 24 - 40 points.
