Learning outcomes
LO2. Confidently speak the state and foreign languages for the implementation of written and oral communication, in particular in situations of professional and scientific communication; present research results in the state and foreign languages. LO6. Apply knowledge of expressive, emotional, logical means of language and speech techniques to achieve the planned pragmatic result and organize successful communication. LO10. Collect and systematize linguistic, literary, folklore facts, interpret and translate texts of different styles and genres into the Crimean Tatar language. LO11. Carry out scientific analysis of linguistic, speech and literary material, interpret and structure it taking into account appropriate methodological principles, formulate generalizations based on independently processed data. LO14. Create, analyze and edit texts of different styles and genres.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) Knowledge of the main provisions, categories, scientific apparatus of the general theory of translation, ways to achieve adequate translation and basic models of translation activity translation activity; 2) successful mastery of professional disciplines during the first year of study; 3) knowledge of phonetic laws, grammatical structures and syntax rules of the Crimean Tatar language; 4) possession of elementary writing skills and understanding of speech by ear.
Course content
The course “Fundamentals of Literary Translation” is one of the components of the comprehensive training program for major 035 (Philology) within the educational program “Crimean Tatar Philology, English Language, and Translation.” Students develop professional skills and competencies in translating from and into the Crimean Tatar language based on previously acquired theoretical knowledge, and are encouraged to systematically expand their knowledge and creatively apply it in practical activities within their future profession. Particular attention is paid to the specifics of written translation of texts in journalistic, literary, and popular science styles, as well as consecutive interpretation of radio and television broadcasts. The course is worth 3 credits. Classes are conducted in the form of lectures and practical sessions. The course concludes with an exam.
