Learning outcomes
PLO 10. To collect and systematise linguistic, literary and folklore facts, to interpret and translate texts of different styles and genres (depending on the specialisation elected).
PLO 14. To create, analyse and edit texts of different styles and genres.
PLO 21. To apply the knowledge and skills necessary to provide faithful bilateral Arabic - Ukrainian translation and interpretation in various sectors of economy and human life.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful mastery of the professional disciplines of the professional disciplines "Lexicology of the Arabic language", "Stylistics of the Arabic language", "Theoretical grammar of the Arabic language", "Theory and methodology of Arabic translation", "Arabic language for professional communication", "Stylistics of the Arabic language"; Knowledge of the features of phonetics, vocabulary and grammar of modern standard Arabic, obtained from a practical course of the Arabic language; Knowledge of linguistic terminology and the basic laws of language development (from the course "Fundamentals of Linguistics").
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to form in students knowledge about the specifics of Arabic-language scientific texts in literary studies and linguistics, master general scientific vocabulary, and develop skills in translating scientific texts from a written text and consecutive translation.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The discipline provides only practical classes aimed at developing students' skills in oral and written translation of the specified types of texts. Completion of homework and translation exercises is mandatory.
Assessment methods and criteria
The credit is given based on the results of the student’s work throughout the entire semester and does not require additional assessment measures. Students who scored 60 points, the required minimum, receive “passed”. Students who failed to score 60 points, the required minimum, receive “failed”. Those students who scored totally less than 60 points during the semester period should complete a test paper in the items which he/she failed to pass. Final score 60-100 – passed; 0-59 - failed.
