Learning outcomes
PLO 2. To have deep knowledge of the official (Ukrainian) and foreign languages for the written and oral communication purposes, professional and scientific communication in particular; to present research results in the official (Ukrainian) and foreign languages. PLO 10. To collect and systematise linguistic, literary and folklore facts, to interpret and translate texts of different styles and genres (depending on the specialisation elected). PLO 14. To create, analyse and edit texts of different styles and genres. PLO 21. To apply the knowledge and skills necessary to provide faithful bilateral Arabic - Ukrainian translation and interpretation in various sectors of economy and human life.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful completion of the courses "Arabic: Advanced Level", "Fundamentals of Translation Practice from Arabic", "Lexicology of Arabic", "Stylistics of Arabic". Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of translation studies from the course "Fundamentals of the Theory of Arabic Translation"; linguistics from the course "Fundamentals of Linguistics".
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to familiarize students with the specifics of translating Arabic-language technical texts belonging to various technical fields; develop skills in selecting the correct contextual equivalents in the target language and the original language, and apply adequate lexical-semantic and grammatical translation transformations.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The discipline provides only practical classes aimed at developing students' skills in oral and written translation of the specified types of texts and self-study of students. Completion of homework and translation exercises is mandatory. Control from the teacher's side is carried out by means of an oral survey and the organization of written tasks,translation exercises, modular control works.
Assessment methods and criteria
The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student in the process of mastering the material from the entire academic course. The overall grade for the semester consists of points received for classroom work (which synthesizes and independent work on the processing of theoretical material in preparation for the classroom: oral answers, supplements, tests, presentation defense) and for independent work (preparation of an essay). All types of work for the semester have a total of: - in the maximum dimension - 100 points, - in the minimum dimension - 60 points. In case of absence from a seminar class, the student must complete the assignment for the seminar. Final assessment: credit.
