Learning outcomes
PLO 2. To have deep knowledge of the official (Ukrainian) and foreign languages for the written and oral communication purposes, professional and scientific communication in particular; to present research results in the official (Ukrainian) and foreign languages. PLO 10. To collect and systematise linguistic, literary and folklore facts, to interpret and translate texts of different styles and genres (depending on the specialisation elected). PLO 14. To create, analyse and edit texts of different styles and genres. PLO 21. To apply the knowledge and skills necessary to provide faithful bilateral Arabic - Ukrainian translation and interpretation in various sectors of economy and human life.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastery of the following academic disciplines: "Linguistics of Arab Countries", "Introduction to Oriental Philology", "Theory and Practice of Translation", "Stylistics of the Arabic Language", "Linguistic and Stylistic Features of Business Communication", "Genre Theories of Translation". 2. Knowledge of basic linguistic concepts and aspects of the development of language usage (from the course "Fundamentals of Linguistics (Synchrony)"), as well as the Arabic language at a sufficient level (from the course "Arabic Language for Professional Communication").
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to acquaint students with the specifics and features of oral consecutive and simultaneous translation of conferences, with the basics of training simultaneous translators for Arabic-Ukrainian two-way translation of international conferences of various topics, business forums; to teach the basics of the theory and technique of oral consecutive and simultaneous interpretation, to form the relevant skills.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Training takes place in the form of interactive lectures and practical classes, which involve the active work of students on oral translation in the classroom, self-study work. Completion of homework and translation exercises is mandatory. Control from the teacher's side is carried out by means of an oral survey and the organization of written tasks, lexical dictations, modular control works.
Assessment methods and criteria
The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student in the process of mastering the material from the entire academic course. The overall grade for the semester consists of points received for classroom work (which synthesizes and independent work on the processing of theoretical and practical material in preparation for the classroom: oral answers, supplements, tests, exercises, creative tasks, presentations) and for independent work (preparation of creative and research tasks, presentations). In case of absence from a practical lesson, the student must complete the task. All types of work for the semester have a total of: in the maximum dimension - 60 points, in the minimum dimension - 36 points. Final assessment: exam.
