Full-time form

Successful completion of general humanities subjects and subjects related to translation theory (‘Contrastive Linguistics and Translation’, ‘Genre Theories of Translation’, ‘Contemporary French-Language Contacts and Translation’), which were taught over the course of three semesters of the Master’s programme. Students must possess basic knowledge, skills and competences in the field of translation.

The translation practice involves students producing written translations of texts of various functional types from French into Ukrainian and from Ukrainian into French, with the aim of developing the skills and abilities required for bidirectional translation of texts on general and specialised topics. The course is designed to familiarise students with contemporary forms, methods and technologies of translation practice in various types of organisations and to foster a creative, research-based approach to its organisation; it develops professional skills and practical competencies in the field of translation.

Orientation meeting, work practice, report

At the end of the practical training period, the company’s training supervisor provides a report on the student’s performance during the practical training and recommendations regarding the assessment of the practical training report. The student must submit a written report to the internship supervisor; this report is the primary document certifying the student’s completion of the translation internship programme. The mark is determined taking into account the timeliness of the report’s submission and the quality of the report, which is assessed in accordance with the types of work described in section 7.1.
