Full-time form

The complex final examination forms part of the final stage of training for Master’s students, who are required to demonstrate their mastery of a system of knowledge based on the core disciplines of linguistics and translation studies. The final examination is comprehensive in character and consists of questions covering the courses of two thematic-disciplinary cycles. Linguistic disciplines: linguo-textology and communicative practices (French), sociolinguistics (French), dialectology (French), psycholinguistics (French). Translation studies: contrastive linguistics and translation, genre theories of translation (French), contemporary Francophone contacts and translation, linguoculturology and translation (French).

The final examination in French for Master’s degree students serves as a summative assessment of the level of theoretical knowledge and practical skills acquired by Master’s graduates, as well as their readiness to perform professional duties. The purpose of the final examination is to establish whether the graduate’s level of educational and professional training actually meets the requirements of the educational and qualification specifications for the specialism. Assessment is carried out on the basis of an evaluation of the graduates’ level of professional knowledge, skills and competences, as stipulated by the educational and qualification specifications for specialists in the relevant field of study, specialism and specialisation.

Exam

The maximum number of marks a graduate can achieve is 100. The maximum and minimum marks available for each theoretical question in the exam paper are: maximum marks – 30; minimum marks – 20. The maximum and minimum marks available for the practical task are: maximum marks – 40; minimum marks – 20. Therefore, the final mark (maximum 100 marks) is calculated as the sum of the marks for the three questions – 2 theoretical questions (minimum 40, maximum 60 marks) and 1 practical task (minimum 20, maximum 40 marks).
