Learning outcomes
The discipline “Political Culture and Political Language” introduces students to the socio-cultural foundations of politics and political life of society and explores socio-cultural dynamics of socio-political life, paying attention to the problems of forming political consciousness and political culture in the context of transformation and globalization of socio-political relations. A comparative analysis of different types of political culture is carried out, and the main current problems of political culture formation in modern Ukraine are identified. In the second part of the discipline, students get acquainted with the patterns of use of language in its oral and written forms as a means of political influence, including in various types of speech during campaigning and propaganda campaigns, in election and party campaigns; preparation and use of political texts; technologies for using and counteracting linguistic manipulative influence in politics.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Before studying this course, students should know the characteristics of the development of domestic and foreign political thought, the essence and main factors of influence on political life, political relations and processes, subjects and objects of politics.
Be able to analyze information on phenomena and phenomena of political life, cultural processes and events; apply basic terms, categories and classifications of political science in the analysis of socio-cultural phenomena and processes; identify current trends in the coexistence of different types of political culture in the context of globalization and intercultural dialogue, predict the prospects for their development, taking into account the peculiarities of political processes in the context of globalization;
Possess the skills of scientific research and use of information; critical attitude and forecasting of socio-political events and phenomena; use of foreign language professional socio-political informative sources.
