Prerequisites and co-requisites
Have a knowledge of the Greek language at a level not lower than B2 according to the CEFR. CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment); have basic skills in conducting research, including working with scientific literature and analyzing language material, and have knowledge of the history and theory of the New Greek language and literature.
Course content
The master's qualification work is an independent written research work of theoretical and practical nature, which is performed by students at the final stage of and is one of the forms of application of theoretical and practical knowledge. Writing a qualification work involves conducting research on a topic chosen by the student, collecting, systematizing and by the student, collection, systematization and independent analysis of linguistic or literary phenomena by the student phenomena and writing further conclusions. The research topic may include various linguistic (phonetics, grammar, lexicology, stylistics, text linguistics, discourse studies, cognitive linguistics, communicative linguistics) or literary studies fields, as well as problems of translation from New Greek into Ukrainian. The qualifying work for the Master's thesis requires a review by a supervisor and a review. Before reviewing the work is checked for the presence/absence of academic plagiarism.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The master's qualification work involves 360 hours of independent work, as well as as well as regular consultations with the supervisor. The qualification work is submitted to to the certification commission in writing in the approved form along with other other supporting documents: the supervisor's feedback and review. Public defense of the of the qualification work takes place in the form of a presentation using various forms of visualization of the report.
Assessment methods and criteria
The total grade for the master's qualifying work is formed as an arithmetic whole of three assessment components: Evaluation of the supervisor of the master's thesis (10 points), evaluation of the reviewer of the master's thesis (45 points) and the assessment of the defense of the master's thesis (45 points). Points are awarded according to the criteria specified in the relevant evaluation forms. The number of points depends on the degree of satisfaction of the requirements specified in the the relevant criteria (maximum 2, 3 or 5 points depending on the criterion).
