Learning outcomes
PLO 2. Confidently speak the state language, New Greek and English to realize written and oral communication, in particular in situations of professional and scientific communication; present research results in the state and foreign languages. PLO 6. Apply knowledge of expressive, emotional, logical means of language and speech techniques to achieve to achieve the planned pragmatic result and organize successful communication. PLO 10. Collect and systematize linguistic and literary facts, analyze folklore facts, interpret and translate texts of different styles and genres of New Greek and English. ELO 11. Carry out scientific analysis of linguistic and literary material in New Greek and English languages, interpret and structure it taking into account appropriate methodological principles, formulate generalizations based on independently processed data. ELO 14. Create, analyze and edit original and translated texts of different styles and genres. genres.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Have a command of the Greek language at a level not lower than B2 according to the CEFR. CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment); have knowledge of morphology, syntax, lexicology and stylistics of the New Greek language, as well as linguistic and country studies of the countries of the region where the New Greek language is spoken.
Course content
The aim of the discipline is to deepen theoretical knowledge of communicative and pragmatic aspects of communication, functioning of discourses in the New Greek linguistic culture, speech and genre features of typical communicative situations, genre and stylistic features of speech in in different communicative situations. Summary of the subject - students get acquainted with the categories of communicative linguistics and linguopragmatics and study their relationship with other branches of knowledge; with the concept of anthropocentric turn in and its influence on the emergence of philological interdisciplinarity; with the principles of of communicative construction of the social environment, the functions performed by communication in society; consider linguistic models of communication: informational, semiotic, transactional, their components; features of the functioning of communication channels: oral, written; the concept of communication roles and the principles of choosing a particular communicative role and principles of choosing one or another.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Teaching methods: lectures, independent work, practical classes. Learning activities: oral answer, creative assignment, independent work (homework), test.
Assessment methods and criteria
Evaluation of semester work: 1. Oral answer: RN 1.1-1.4; RN 2.1-2.4; RN 3.1; RN 4.1 - 16/24 points. 2. creative task: PH 2.1-2.4; PH 4.1-4.2 - 20/12 points. 3. Tasks from tasks for independent (home) work: EL 1.1-1.4; EL 2.1-2.4; EL 4.1-4.2 - 5/10 points. 4. Test: PH 1.1-1.4; 2.1-2.4 - 3/6 points. The semester number of points is formed by the points received for classroom work (oral answers, defense of a creative task, presentation of tasks from independent (homework) work, test) and for independent work (preparation of a creative assignment, independent (homework) tasks). Final assessment: exam - SLO 1.1-1.4; SLO 2.1-2.4; SLO 4.1-4.2 - 24/40 points. The total number of points in the discipline (60/100 points) is determined as the sum of points for semester work (36/60 points) and the final assessment - the exam (24/40 points).
